Anenta offer a full managing agent service for our GP and Pharmaceutical waste. They have reduced our time spent dealing with clinical waste operational issues, and ensure that all invoices are valid. This saves the NHS money by checking that the correct charges are issued, so only services that are provided are paid for. They are also very responsive to any queries that the ICB has and the process is fully transparent. Practices now have the ability to access a range of supportive material and can manage their clinical waste services much more effectively.

Anenta has a strong track record of managing clinical waste contractors on behalf of the NHS, including CCGs and ICBs. Central to their appointment was the knowledge that Anenta provides all the necessary assurances to satisfy the stringent requirements of NHSE&I. This includes the ability to analyse, examine, check and scrutinise every single billable item through Anenta’s software programmes. This process ensures that irregularities are quickly identified enabling overbilling to be disputed with waste collectors. Critically, where incorrect billing occurs, Anenta ensures that credit notes are raised before authorising the invoice for payment. Utilising their expertise and understanding of the sector, Anenta is able to manage enquiries from both waste contractors and the waste producers, such as GPs, ensuring consistency of service and the ability to realise enhanced efficiency, generating the potential for further costs savings. In addition to identifying our pharmacies’ collection needs – ensuring that returned and unused medicines are managed in accordance with scheduled collections – Anenta also enables pharmacies to raise an electronic request for an urgent collection at any time through Vector, Anenta’s online portal. This aspect of their service is invaluable to the pharmacies. Combined with the provision of full technical support, Anenta manages the relationship between the waste collection contractors and clinical waste producers seamlessly, a service that we are very pleased with.

Anenta manage our clinical waste contracts for GP Practices and the Community Pharmacy Patient Returns Medicines Service. They offer a full managing agent service, responding to queries raised from GP Practices and Community Pharmacies and then performance managing the contracts the ICB holds with the waste vendors. They investigate and support with remedial actions, provide advice around clinical compliance, as well as validating invoices from suppliers so we can be assured we only pay for the services we commission.
